If it continues as it's been so far then the cup is going to Latin-America this year. Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Paraguay, Uruguay have all been good/great. Brazil was ok. Europeans have struggled.

At least you're not out. You only have to beat Slovenia to advance and there are examples of champions that have struggled in the group stages.

Most likely England and USA will advance from this group now.

If USA beats Algeria and if England beats Algeria and Slovenia, USA and England are through.

If USA and England beat Algeria and England draws with Slovenia, then 3 teams will have 5 points and the results with Algeria will count. And since Slovenia won only 1-0, it doesn't look too good for them.

In the end everyone has a shot. Algeria might just beat USA and England and win the group (I doubt it though).

The ref was a bit too eager with the cards but atleast he didn't favour either team. Both got their share of the cards. So Germany can't blame the loss on the ref.

The ref seems to be giving yellow cards quite easily. However, Klose should have noticed this and avoided making such a foul in the midfield when there wasn't any immediate danger.

The fall was overblown but there was definitively a touch so in that sense the penalty was justified. However, I'm not convinced there wasn't offside because it looked like another Urugay player touched the ball before it reached the striker. But they showed the replay only once and I'm not sure.

Still, it was a deserved victory for Urugay.

Chile's finishing needs improvement, otherwise very very impressive performance. Good ball control, passing, dribbling. The most entertaining game so far. Chile should have scored more and Honduras wasn't a push over either.

Some of Chile's players... Isla was everywhere, Fernandez gave good accurate free kicks. But Sanchez... wow, just wow... this kid was absolutely on fire!!

Looking at the other matches, they were still one of the best teams.

I've been working a lot so I've seen only a few matches but Brazil wasn't very good. The first goal was a goalie mistake, the defense was soft and there were very few cases of brilliance (second goal). Overall you would expect better from Brazil against such an opponent (N. Korea played well in defence but still). If what you're saying is true then most of the big teams suck this year.

I use Firefox and I'm happy with it so I haven't felt the need to try other browsers (besides IE) so I can't really suggest you much... I don't know why I even post here....

FF Adblock is useful. As is DownThemAll (is there such a feature in other browsers?).

Only three fouls in the first half while playing defensively against Brazil...

Flares are part of "football culture" too. Why are they banned?

If they want to blow those things when they're own team is playing then fine but in other games it's not fine.

I know USA is a strong team but not quite as strong as England and I would imagine losing to the "soccer players" would hurt more than losing to some random team.

I'd like USA win just because of the hilarity of it. A much stronger English team losing to its "colony" where they don't even like football all that much.

However, England is stronger and anything less than a win would be a dissapointment for them.
